Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, officially kick-started his campaign for second term at Imeko-Afon Local Council. Abiodun, accompanied by chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by former Governor Olusegun Osoba, as well as other leaders across the state, were at Afon and Ilara communities at a grand-finale of the campaign held at Imeko, the headquarters of the zone.

The governor, in company of Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates of the APC in Ogun West District of the state, also took time to visit traditional rulers of the zone to seek their royal blessings ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The campaign rally also recorded a new feat as some party members returned home with various household items, as well as working equipment, to support their choice trade and profession. They won the items during a draw held at the event.

In his speech, Abiodun said he would continue to fulfil his pledges and urged the electorate to encourage him with votes. He pledged that his administration would establish college of technical institute in Imeko, and also address challenges of bad roads within Imeko-Afon local council.

Osoba stated that his coming to Imeko-Afon local council was like homecoming, recalling that it was his administration that brought electricity to the region.

He urged party members to genuinely work towards the success of APC at the polls, and also encouraged the electorate to vote for candidates of the party.
