Benue partners Chinese firm to establish solar panel factory

Benue State government has entered intoa partnership with Sinoki System Limited to establish a hybrid solar panel factory in the state.

The government also entered intoa partnership with a Shanghai Haitian Hospital to facilitate academic and clinical interchange with Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) alongside other educational exchanges of mutual interest.

Signing the two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi, yesterday, Governor Hyacinth Alia said he was excited and optimistic that the partnerships would open other doors of investment in the state.

Director at the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, Mr William Wang, and Mr Liu Hai Ding represented the hospital and Sinoki respectively.

He described the partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital as exciting, saying his administration was determined to improve the state’s health sector, thereby discouraging medical tourism to other countries.

The governor described the partnership with Sinoki as a quick fix to the epileptic power challenge in the state, explaining that for every business to thrive, there must be some stability in electricity.

According to Alia, Benue is open for business to investors, who wish to come and do business.

He called for more investors to take advantage of the many untapped investment opportunities in the state, promising to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Earlier while introducing the investors, Special Adviser to the Governor on International Investment, Alex Adingi, said the investors had expressed their desire to partner the state government in the areas of health and energy for the overall good of the state.
