FCT police operatives foil armed robbery operation, arrests suspect

The Federal Capital Territory Police Operatives attached to Apo Divisional Headquarters have foiled an armed robbery operation around the area, arresting the suspects and recovering exhibits.


According to the spokesperson of the command, DSP Josephine Adeh, “The Apo division at around 6:am on April 12, 2023, foiled an armed robbery operation and arrested a suspect following a distress call received from Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement.

“Police operatives from Apo Division swiftly mobilized to the scene, and the hoodlums, on sighting the police team, abandoned an ash-coloured BMW vehicle with Reg. No. ABJ 440 KX contained three plasma televisions and two laptops, which they had stolen from one of the houses, and fled in different directions. A red Volkswagen Golf with Reg. No. LUY 899 KV was similarly sighted around the vicinity with its engine running. The vehicle zoomed off upon the arrival of police operatives.


“The operatives gave the fleeing vehicle a hot chase and intercepted it at the Games Village Roundabout. The driver was later identified as one Dahiru Muazu ‘M’ and Halifa Hamisu. The suspects and exhibits recovered are in police custody while the investigation is in progress to arrest other fleeing suspects.

“While the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations, the public is enjoined to remain law-abiding, be vigilant and keep up prompt rendition of distress calls/complaints.”
