From TikTok to global sensation: The rise of Ammie, the fashion influencer

Agbahiwe Stella Amarachi, better known as Ammie, has become a global phenom.

Germany Kent, an American hall of famer and author, once said: “When it’s your time you will walk right into your blessing.” This highly instructive quote was fulfilled in the life of Agbahiwe Stella Amarachi, popularly known as Ammie, the moment TikTok was launched.


TikTok has become the veritable tool for Ammie to become a star that she is. Her dream to become a fashion influencer found wings on the video application, and she has become a global sensation, offering unique tips on make-up looks, wigs and fashion trends.

As an actress, Agbahiwe Amarachi, who hails from Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, has always had a knack for fashion and good looks. The entrepreneur joined TikTok in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and in three years, her followership has grown to 3.4million followers.

Ammie has built a connection with her local and wider audience with her short and incisive fashion videos, so much so that she had to repackage her content and personality upon realising that she could monetize her passion.

In more ways than one, Ammie is a frontrunner. She has shown many how they could turn their passion, whatever shape it is, to wealth. As a plus-size content creator on TikTok, she has changed the mindset of those endowed like her and constantly shamed for their unique features.

“I have  faced bullying and body shaming both in real life and online
I have people trolling but I got used to it and decided not to let it get to me, I built so much  confidence in myself and that is why I have so many people looking up to me and that’s when I decided I am here to stay”, she said in a recent interview.

On how she has been able build her name into a brand, Ammie acknowledged that fashion allows her to be creative about her drive to make impact in the industry.


“I am mesmerized by the beauty and sense of fashion because it allows me to be creative, I have passion in what I do and I get the opportunity to express myself, create styles that helps people feel confident about themselves and present their individuality”, stated Agbahiwe Stella Amarachi.

“I build my connection with my audience and other creators, I figured my niche and also keeping  up with the latest trends, I get to come up with so many content and I decided to mix up my contents and put in more work because it’s not about taking a photo or video and posting it, it’s also about building a community that’s survives and thrives and I have the passion for fashion and open to give my audience more .

“Yes there is money in this but it’s not just about the money for me, I would define passion as love because when I say I have passion for fashion, it means that I love what I do. I am a fashionista…but the payment is the payment is the Icing on the cake”.

Ammie, who insisted that she is single and not yet ready for a relationship, explained that her driving force in life is the unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

“My driving force in life is knowledge, it is driven by utilizing past experiences and seeking specific knowledge when necessary. Knowledge is power, I acquire knowledge and find opportunities to learn, but I’m always open to learn regardless of the age,” Ammie said.

Agbahiwe Amarachi, a renowned influencer, has worked with several local wig brands, including Lush hair, Empower,Alipearlhairs, yolissahair, among others. She also worked with US company, Asteriahaircoupon.

Ammie has also done business with artists such as the like of Davido, Zlatan, Rema, Darkoo, Jaywillz, Goyamenor and many more.
