Lagos, Niger sign MoU on food security

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on agriculture entered into by Lagos and Niger states would bring about opportunities that will enhance food security and sufficiency in the state.


The governor said this at the Lagos House, Marina, after signing the MoU on Agriculture with his Niger counterpart, Umar Bago, adding that the MoU would provide opportunities that would benefit to both states.

Also speaking, Niger State governor, Umar Bago, said the MoU was a collaboration for Niger to produce and process for Lagos, thanking President Bola Tinubu for his efforts at encouraging partnership between states.

Commenting about the partnership, Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, said the partnership between both states was aimed at ensuring adequate food security while serving as catalyst for production and market for farmers in Lagos and restating commitment to partner other states.
