Nigerian Breweries
Nigerian Breweries PLC have unveiled a flavoured stout to cater to consumer tastes with nuances of flavour and style to complement the modern consumer.

The product, Legend Twist was unveiled at the Nigerian Breweries Distributors Awards in Lagos.

Redefining the Stout landscape in Nigeria with the addition of fruity flavours, which includes lemon, ginger and pineapple, creating a spectrum of options, product accessibility, and new dimensions to accessible taste profile and audience.

Portfolio Manager, Dark Beer, Nigerian Breweries PLC, Ita Bassey said, “Legend twist was inspired by the evolving tastes of consumers, seeing that young adults would want to try new things and would adopt the phenomenal habit of mixing their beer. So we decided to create a product that would serve these purposes.”

Bassey also stated that the innovation will contribute to the evolution of the Stout market in Nigeria, owing to its transcendency from the traditional stout experience to a modern and more diversified experience.

He noted, “In crafting Legend Twist, we wanted to offer consumers more than a beverage; we aimed to deliver a transformative experience.”

Elaborating on the flavour profiles, he said, “the flavor profiles were meticulously crafted to provide a diverse and exciting experience. Pineapple brings a tropical vibrancy, ginger adds a spicy kick, and lemon introduces a refreshing zest. We wanted a trio that not only complements the rich stout base but also offers a range of options to suit different preferences.”

Noting its versatility, he stated, “Legend Twist brings a dynamic element to the stout market, traditionally known for its robust and classic flavors. It opens up new possibilities for both seasoned stout enthusiasts and those who may be exploring flavored alcoholic beverages for the first time. The lower ABV of 4.5% adds to its appeal, making it a beverage that can be enjoyed across various occasions and by a diverse range of consumers.”

“We believe it will set a new standard for the stout market, encouraging other brewers to explore creative avenues and elevate the overall beer culture,” he noted.
