The Nigerian Military on Wednesday announced the arrest of the mastermind behind the recent bombings in Jos and Zaria at a military checkpoint in  Gombe State.
Two persons travelling with the terrorist were also apprehended with one of them shot while trying to evade being captured.
The arrests came less than 48 hours after an explosion shook Zaria in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the  Defence Headquarters, the military and Department of State Security (DSS) operatives had trailed the suspect until he was apprehended while trying to evade arrest inside a trailer at Dadinkowa checkpoint in Gombe.

The blasts in Jos and Zaria accounted for over 60 deaths.
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said about 44 persons died in the twin bomb blasts that hit Jos, the Plateau State capital on Sunday, June 5, 2015.
It was gathered that the first explosion went off around 9:14 at a Bauchi road shopping complex a few meters before the Bauchi park and University of Jos.
A second explosion was heard about four minutes later. The second explosion was said to have occurred close to the popular Yan Taya mosque where Sheikh Sani Yahaya does his Ramadan tafsir.
On Tuesday, June 7, 2015, Â another blast hit a local government headquarters in Zaria in Kaduna, Â as primary school teachers and public sector staff were undergoing identity checks. Over 20 persons were reported dead in that explosion.
The Defence Headquarters said the suspects have been moved to a secret location for interrogations.
